SUNDIATA MARCELIN, PE - Principal

Sundiata Marcelin was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating from St Augustine High School, Sundiata went on to study engineering at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in Tallahassee. While at FAMU, Sundiata focused on infrastructure design, water resources, and structural engineering with several undergraduate research projects. The Summer of Sundiata's Junior Year he along with a delegate of engineering undergraduate students went to the University of Tokyo in Japan to conduct research on hazard mitigation. His particular project involved the use of genetic algorithms in the optimal placement of hydraulic dampers in High-Rise Buildings to mitigate the effects of earthquakes. After gradutation, Sundiata returned home to work alongside his community in the family construction business. Sundiata worked as a Construction Manager repairing residences across Orleans Parish that had been affected by Hurricane Katrina. Sundiata then joined the team at Infinity Engineering of which he gained experience in Marine Design, Structural Engineering and modeling, and Infrastructure Design. Sundiata then sat for his Professional Engineering Exam and ultimately went on to open Marcelin Engineering
